Help on choosing which campaign to play for...
I would like to try a ranger that uses the beastmastery line for attack, but rather than plunge headfirst into it i needed to ask this:
Which campaign (prophecies or factions) has decent beastmastery skills that can be aquired early on in the game? I'd rather play as this role at the start, not just after i've reached the other campaign and have to get other skills first. Can anyone help? |

Well with factions you can buy all the non-elite skills as soon as you get out of the tutorial area. In Prophecies they're strewn throughout the game; the only skill trainer with all of them is toward the end in Ember Lightcamp.

so you would suggest factions? at some point i will change campaigns, but i would rather have a decent build that works near the start.
Thanks |

Yeah; you'll likely be able to put a build together sooner in Factions.
Here's the beast mastery skills available as soon as you hit Kaineng Center: http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Bestial_Mauling http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Disrupting_Lunge http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Maiming_Strike http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Poisonous_Bite http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Pounce http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Run_as_One http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Savage_Pounce http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Scavenger_Strike |

If you care about getting early access to good skills, Factions is the way to go. Prophecies withholds many skills for a huge portion of the game.

However I would cross over as soon as you reach Kaineng center and get as many in Tyria as are nearby without a struggle, and there shouldn't be much of a struggle since you'd be level 20 in a level 12-14 area |

Try waiting for Nightfall (out in a month), from the beta test last weekend it looked like it will rely on the same system as Factions, which allows for purchasing skills early on. |
